Gastón Izaguirre was born in Mercedes, Uruguay, 1974

Gastón is undoubtedly the artist of the moment in Uruguay, making headlines around the world and exhibiting his work across Latin America, the USA and Europe. 

 

Through these children’s innocent characters, Gastón expresses the present time, the moment he is living now, that ambiguity of form and color that govern his life. The artist is then no longer the observer but the observed. Gastón’s work is powerful and unique, a trip of discovering, a reflexion of himself and as a result a very interesting mirror of today’s society.
